In a blog on Mortgage Solutions, Chris Hall, practising mortgage and protection adviser and head of operations at Mortgage Guardian said good mortgage advisers often have to sweep up after brokers who have failed their clients.

“Helping people and solving puzzles is what being a mortgage adviser is all about and we owe it to our clients to put in a world-class performance on every case,” said Hall.

However, it seems some clients are falling through the cracks as brokers are failing more complex clients which do not fit a tick-box mortgage approach.

What key things can the market do to keep raising standards in the mortgage advice market?
