Just Mortgages has announced the appointment of Rob Perrin to the role of sales director, to help manage the growth of its self-employed division, launched in March.

The division was launched to support mortgage brokers who are looking to advance their careers by making the switch from being employed intermediaries to self-employed business owners.

Perrin was previously at Countrywide and has more than 10 years’ mortgage market experience.  Just Mortgages also said that it plans to appoint an additional sales director by the beginning of October.

Just Mortgages reported that the division is on target to hit its year-end headcount by September and that it expects to have more than doubled its original planned number of 50 recruits by the end of the year.  The company is planning to have 150 brokers by the end of 2017.

Carl Parker, head of Just Mortgages self-employed division, and also previously Countrywide, said: “We are currently seeing applications come in from brokers across the country – some are looking to take their first steps into self-employment while other brokers are already self-employed but are unhappy with their current support, remuneration or both.”
